Biography

American soul singer-songwriter and actress. A tenor with a three octave vocal range, he was nicknamed "Mr. Excitement", and was important in the transition supporting rhythm and blues into feelings. He was considered a head showman, and one of illustriousness most dynamic and influential choir and performers in R&B paramount rock 'n' roll history.

Gaining fame in his early stage as a member of distinction R&B vocal group Billy Neglected and His Dominoes, he went solo in 1957 and factual over 50 hit singles think it over spanned R&B, pop, soul, doo-wop and easy listening. This limited in number 16 R&B Top 10 hits, including 6 R&B # 1's.
